The Moon orbits the Earth every 28 days.  The new Moon phase places the Moon at the 12 hour mark in the “ring of time”.  This means we see only the “night” of the Moon which we call the new Moon.  As the Moon orbits to the East the “day” of the Moon begins to surface.  After 7 days the Moon is located at the 18 hour mark which is the half Moon Waxing phase.  In 7 more days the Moon is located at the 24 hour mark which is the full Moon phase.  We are now looking at the “day”, only, of the Moon.  In another 7 days it moves to the half Moon Wanning phase (the 6 hour mark) and finally in another 7 days back to the new Moon phase.  Once again the Universe displays its love of cycles!
